Tina Marcus is a special woman.
She works as an office manager at a church, gives back to the community and, in her free time, she rides a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
In her 40s, Tina spent 10 years as the primary caretaker for her mother, a time during which she said her weight ballooned out of control.
“When she passed away in 2010, I kept eating whatever I wanted,” Tina said.
But at 262 pounds and diagnosed with pre-diabetes, Tina knew it was time to take that control back.
And that’s what turned her into an incredible weight loss success story. Since January, Tina, at 5 feet 4 inches, dropped 82 pounds* (and counting), and now weighs 180.
“When I went to back to doctor, she was so amazed, she said she’d never seen anyone do this,” Tina said. “She asked me all sorts of questions on how I did it.”
Tina’s reply? She lost the weight with Diet-to-Go’s Balance-Diabetes meal plan.
“I had tried doing things on my own before,” Tina said. “I’ve tried eating right — when you have to cook a lot, you really eat a lot more than you think you are.”
And for Tina, it was Diet-to-Go’s portion-controlled, healthy meals that made all the difference.
“I’ve learned a lot about portion control, and I really stuck to it,” she said.
The changes have made a profound impact on her life.
“I was a pretty active person even at 262 pounds,” she said. “But now, I don’t get out-of-breath. I joined a gym, and I go there three times a week.”
She also said it’s improved her ability to complete her community service work.
“We have a community program where once a month, we have 250 people come and we give them gift cards, we give them clothes, we do a lot,” she said.
Even riding her motorcycle has been more enjoyable.
“The bike feels a lot bigger since I lost the weight. I have more stamina,” she said.
And what’s even better is that the weight loss hasn’t slowed down, even after being on the Diet-to-Go program since January.
“I’m still averaging losing 8-10 pounds a month*,” she said. “For me it was about health. I’m not getting any younger, it’s not going to get any easier. It’s got to be now or never.”
Her family and friends have responded well, too.
“Women are like, ‘oh my God!’” she laughed. “I’m already on my third set of clothes, down from a 3X.”
