It’s a story many women are all too familiar with — putting on extra pounds every year after 40, with no explanation and no obvious way to combat it.
It’s definitely the story of Stephanie, a California mental health specialist who at 5'6" slowly started gaining weight until she bubbled up to 165 pounds.
“Even with what I thought was a healthy diet — since I don’t eat meat and I don’t eat processed foods very much, and I do practice what I preach and exercise like I tell my patients — I still gained weight,” Stephanie said.
Stephanie, a hiker and swimmer, said she tried several diet plans, such as Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig, neither of which worked for her. She started looking for other diets, and happened upon Diet-to-Go’s Carb 30 meal plan at a health club on Oct. 1, 2015.
“The food looked real, which was appealing to me,” Stephanie said. “It wasn’t frozen, which I also found appealing. It didn’t look like it had been overly packaged or processed.”
Now, just 4 months later, Stephanie dropped from 165 pounds to 128, a 37-pound weight loss*.
“It hasn’t been that hard, and a lot of it is because of the diet. I haven’t been that hungry. And I continue to do well on the diet plan,” she said.
The best part of the plan, she added, was learning about portion control, as well as the support she received from Diet-to-Go staff.
“Mary in Customer Support, one of the questions I asked her...I had several issues and one of them was what kind of food I could eat on the diet. And she was very, very helpful,” she said, adding that Mary also directed her to low-carb soup recipes she could make on her own.
Now, Stephanie is in maintenance mode, and said she will continue to use Diet-to-Go’s lunch and dinner, 5-day plan to keep her on-track.
“It just worked for me,” Stephanie said. “I just felt like it was something that my body adapted to very easily.”
